Welcome to Sikkim Himalayan Home-Stays, your threshold to an exciting holiday in the land of Mount Khangchendzonga – the world’s third highest peak. Our home-stay experience offers the warmth of friendship in the relaxed comfort of our home in Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim, or our village farmlet in the Lepcha Reservation, Dzongu in North Sikkim.
We are a young, professional Sikkimese family of Lepcha and Bhutia heritage and enjoy sharing our home with travelers, writers and scholars. We are proud of our heritage and encourage the interest of our guests in our culture.
In Gangtok, our homestay is situated four kilometres from Gangtok’s main bazaar in Phyao Busty, at Tadong. Our house, while close to the main road with easy transport to the centre of Gangtok, is situated in a small village and overlooks rice and maize fields and sustainable small farms where our neighbours raise their own cattle, goats and chickens.
In Dzongu, our home and land is in Tingvong Village, Upper Dzongu, a cluster village close to the sacred Tholung monastery and other pilgrimage sites. In Dzongu guests experience traditional Sikkimese food and traditional Lepcha performances.
Accommodation and board is set at an affordable price. Guest rooms are well maintained with a strong emphasis on cleanliness and hygiene.
Our food is pesticide-free as Sikkim is an organic state of India and meals are wholesome and always freshly prepared. And most importantly, we are always close by to share with you the knowledge of our land.
